Despite the light rain, Torch 8th Street in the Torch High-tech Industrial Development Zone (hereinafter referred to as the "High Zone") in Weihai, Shandong Province, was still crowded with tourists. People poured into this narrow two-way lane, some holding balloons, some holding drink cups with the word "Weihai" on them, and posing for "check-ins" between villas with their backs to the sea.

Weihai is a traditional tourist destination. According to Dazhong News, Weihai has been included in the list of popular domestic tourist destinations released by authoritative research institutions and well-known online travel platforms more than 10 times this year. In recent years, relying on the spread of social and short video platforms, network traffic has made non-traditional scenic spots such as Weihai Torch 8th Street and Blue West become "Internet celebrity" check-in spots.

During the peak summer tourist season, the "Record China" team from the School of Journalism at Fudan University (hereinafter referred to as the "Record China" team) visited Weihai to explore new tourist highlights beyond the mountain and sea scenery.
