Beijing News reported that from August 19 to 24, the 2024 "Run, Youth" National Youth Sunshine Sports Conference (hereinafter referred to as the "Conference") was held in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province. Beijing successfully completed the task of forming a team to participate in the competition. The delegation has now gone to Nanchang and will show the style and vitality of the capital's youth in the national arena. The conference was co-organized by the State General Administration of Sports, the Ministry of Education and other six ministries and commissions. It is the first national youth sports event held in my country after the Paris Olympics.
The Beijing delegation consists of 66 members, including 49 athletes, 8 coaches and 9 delegation staff, and is headed by Shi Fenghua, deputy director of the Beijing Sports Bureau. The delegation carefully selected young athletes from traditional sports schools and individual associations. They will participate in the experience and performance of 8 projects, covering basketball, volleyball, track and field, roller skating, skipping, rock climbing, cheerleading and football, etc., fully demonstrating the diversified development achievements of Beijing's youth sports.
Shi Fenghua introduced that the purpose of this competition is to show the positive spirit and fruitful results of extracurricular training of the capital's youth with the best state and the most outstanding results, and strive to achieve a double harvest in sports performance and spiritual civilization. This is not only a test of the athletes' personal abilities, but also a concentrated display of the effectiveness of Beijing's youth sports work.
During the conference, the Beijing delegation will compete and communicate with nearly 2,000 young athletes from other provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities and the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions. The conference has three sections: performances, educational activities and project experience. Through a variety of events and cultural activities, it will inspire young people's love for sports, convey a healthy and positive life philosophy, and build an important platform for young people to show themselves and communicate and interact.
