On August 19, the National Immigration Administration released the latest statistics. From January to July this year, 17.254 million foreigners entered the country through ports, a year-on-year increase of 129.9%. Foreigners traveling to China are expected to drive consumption of more than 100 billion yuan.

How do you view the substantial increase in the number of foreign visitors? How did this change happen? As the inbound tourism market continues to gain popularity, how can we continue to enhance our appeal and attract more tourists to China?

From knocking on the door and inviting people in to opening the door and welcoming people in, how do you view the sharp increase in the number of foreign tourists entering the country?

Dai Bin, President of China Tourism Academy:First of all, visa facilitation, such as 144-hour transit visa exemption and unilateral and mutual visa exemption, is the most important factor in the increase in the number of foreign tourists. In the past, we knocked on the door to invite people in, but now we open the door to welcome them in. In the next step, we will make greater efforts to enable foreigners and inbound tourists to travel more freely.

In addition to a series of policies such as visa-free entry, the impact of some other facilitation measures is also playing a role. For example, it is becoming more and more convenient for foreigners to pay by credit card in China. In terms of external promotion, the professional operation of some domestic tourist routes, tourist projects and tourist enterprises are also important factors.
