From August 12 to 21, Fijian Prime Minister Rambuka embarked on his first visit to China during his second term as prime minister. Where did Rambuka go during his 10-day trip to China? What did he see? What is the significance of China-Fiji friendly cooperation for both China and Fiji?

Fiji is a Pacific island country with strong economic strength, good economic development and active diplomacy. It is located in the center of the southwest Pacific Ocean, with an area of ​​18,300 square kilometers and a population of about 890,000, second only to Papua New Guinea among the Pacific island countries. In 1975, Fiji was the first Pacific island country to establish diplomatic relations with China.

Born in 1948, Rambuka served as Prime Minister of Fiji from 1992 to 1999 and was re-elected at the end of 2022. When he first served as Prime Minister, Rambuka visited China in 1994.

Thirty years later, Rambuka chose Yunnan to start his second visit to China. He traveled a long way from Kunming to Malipo County in Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture.
