Hunan Daily, August 19 (Correspondent Chen Rong, Li Xiangyang, All-Media Reporter Meng Jiaoyan) On August 18, the State Grid Hunan Province UAV Operation Management Center organized 6 teams of 15 people, carrying 5 groups of multi-rotor UAVs and 1 group of fixed-wing UAVs, to go to the disaster-stricken area of Qiyang City to conduct a full-section inspection of the affected distribution network lines and the main network lines in the disaster-stricken area, and accurately locate and find safety hazards of power equipment.
Since August 16, Panshi Town, Qiyang City, has experienced extreme torrential rains. Upon hearing the news, the State Grid Yongzhou Power Supply Company immediately organized a special team, deployed 21 generators, and mobilized large fixed-wing drones in the province to participate in inspection operations to ensure residents' electricity supply.
The composite fixed-wing UAV CW15 that participated in the disaster relief work was the first of its kind to cruise power lines in Hunan Province. The UAV has a wingspan of 3.54 meters and a range of more than 50 kilometers. Equipped with a high-speed camera, it can quickly inspect the entire area where geological disasters have occurred, and can accurately and precisely detect hidden dangers of line faults at close range.
At the request of the local government, the high-tech power line patrol will also extend its service to track the disaster situation of residents in the disaster-stricken areas, provide the Qiyang Municipal Government with the disaster situation of four villages, including Yuanxin, Gaojiang, Shidongyuan, and Langshu, and assist the government in the evacuation of the people and disaster relief work. As of August 18, all 11 10kV lines affected by the heavy rain have resumed power supply.
