Reference News reported on August 19According to a report by the Russian Satellite News Agency on August 19, Oleg Tyapkin, director of the Third European Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that Russia has formally asked Germany to investigate the Nord Stream explosion and seek negotiations on Germany's fulfillment of its international anti-terrorism obligations.
According to the report, he said: "The German government has announced a wanted list for one of the suspected perpetrators of the Baltic terrorist attacks, who is a Ukrainian citizen. Judging from the fact that the German media has long systematically promoted the view that these people have nothing to do with any country, the German investigation will also end without finding the real mastermind behind the Nord Stream explosion, that is, in fact, Germany will put it on hold."
Tyapkin noted that Russia does not intend to accept this situation.
He stressed, according to the report: "We have raised the question of whether Germany and other countries involved are fulfilling their obligations under the UN anti-terrorism conventions. In this regard, relevant requests have been formally made bilaterally, including to Berlin. We seek to negotiate in accordance with existing international regulations. Our next steps will depend on the response of the West."
