According to a report by Fast Technology on August 18, Arm is developing a new gaming-grade GPU graphics card whose performance can rival that of industry giants such as NVIDIA, Intel, and AMD.
Currently, Arm is secretly carrying out this work in Israel and has recruited hundreds of chip and software development engineers for this purpose.
Arm declined to comment, but without directly confirming or denying it, it seems likely.
More details are not available yet, such as whether it is a discrete graphics card or an integrated GPU? Does it support AI computing? Can it be used with x86 and Arm architecture processors at the same time?
Considering that Arm already has a powerful integrated Immortalis GPU that supports hardware-level ray tracing, ASR super resolution and other technologies, it is not too difficult to build a gaming-grade GPU or even a discrete graphics card.
If this is true, it will be another heavyweight player in the graphics card market, further intensifying competition.
Another possibility is that Arm will continue to develop relevant IP and then license it to third-party manufacturers.
For example, Qualcomm can use this to manufacture its own powerful GPU, which can be paired with the Snapdragon X series processor to create a gaming laptop, which is perfect.
