It was decided that from August 31, 2024, a total of 283 imported Audi E-TRON GT series vehicles produced between July 26, 2022 and November 23, 2023 will be recalled.

Due to design reasons, the front brake hoses of the vehicles covered by this recall may crack, causing brake fluid leakage, resulting in reduced braking efficiency and longer braking distance, increasing the risk of vehicle collision and posing a safety hazard.

FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd. will entrust Audi authorized dealers to replace the optimized front brake hoses and brackets for vehicles within the recall scope free of charge to eliminate safety hazards.

Due to manufacturing problems with the fuel pump impellers of some vehicles within the scope of this recall, the impellers are deformed in high temperature environments and rub against the fuel pump housing, increasing resistance. The following vehicles will be recalled from August 16, 2024:

1. BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd.

The recall involves 2,026 domestically produced 1 Series vehicles with production dates from September 18, 2017 to November 8, 2017; 1,175 domestically produced 2 Series vehicles with production dates from August 3, 2017 to November 8, 2017; 538,412 domestically produced 3 Series vehicles with production dates from May 31, 2005 to November 8, 2017; and 56,883 domestically produced X1 vehicles with production dates from January 19, 2010 to November 8, 2017.

2. BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd.

The recall involves 86,404 imported 1 Series vehicles produced between August 25, 2004 and November 8, 2017; 12,223 imported 2 Series vehicles produced between October 11, 2013 and November 8, 2017; 96,148 imported 3 Series vehicles produced between December 20, 2004 and November 8, 2017; 12,047 imported 4 Series vehicles produced between June 17, 2013 and August 10, 2017; 101,617 imported 5 Series vehicles produced between September 14, 2009 and January 31, 2017; and 15,2010 and 201 some imported X5 cars with production dates from July 19, 2013 to June 20, 2018, totaling 152,407 units; some imported X6 cars with production dates from July 9, 2014 to November 8, 2017, totaling 23,107 units.

A small number of vehicles included in this recall may have their frontal airbags installed with ammonium nitrate gas generators produced by Takata without desiccant due to users modifying the steering wheel after the vehicle was sold. When the airbag is deployed, the gas generator may explode, causing fragments to fly out and injure people in the vehicle, posing a safety hazard.

Since it is impossible to accurately confirm whether the user has modified the steering wheel during use only through vehicle production information, the steering wheel affected by the modified airbag can be identified by appearance. From November 15, 2024, a total of 1,716 imported E-Class and AMG GT vehicles with production dates between June 8, 2018 and April 8, 2022 will be recalled.

This recall is a further recall of the recall campaign "Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. recalls some imported E-Class and AMG GT vehicles" issued on October 21, 2022.

During the implementation of the above recall activities, the transmission wiring harness electrical connectors of some vehicles within the scope of this recall may not have been properly repaired. Due to manufacturing reasons, the power batteries of some vehicles within the scope of this recall may cause internal short circuits in the battery cells, leading to thermal overload. In extreme cases, the power batteries may catch fire, posing a safety hazard.

Jaguar Land Rover (China) Investment Co., Ltd. will replace the power battery pack for the vehicles within the recall scope free of charge, or repurchase the vehicles to eliminate safety hazards. Users can choose one of the two options. The vehicle repurchase will be implemented from now on, and the power battery pack replacement is expected to be implemented from November 1, 2024.
