Rural doctors are the health guardians of hundreds of millions of farmers and an important force in promoting the comprehensive construction of a healthy China.
In June 2023, the "Notice on Issuing the Implementation Plan for the Special Plan for College Student Rural Doctors in Sichuan Province" was released. Sichuan clearly identified college student rural doctors as medical and health talents to be recruited and introduced. The county-level medical community will lead the hospital or township health center to sign a service agreement or labor contract with them to implement corresponding treatment guarantees. In December 2023, the Central Organization Department and five other departments jointly issued a notice requiring the preparation and guarantee of the special plan for college student rural doctors, guiding and encouraging medical college graduates to enrich and optimize the rural doctor team.
Over the past year, many college-graduate rural doctors in Sichuan have taken root in rural areas, taking over the "torch" from their predecessors, actively serving the health of villagers, and inheriting the love and responsibility of doctors. After a year, which college-graduate rural doctors went to the grassroots to find answers to youth? What new generation faces have emerged?
Recently, Chuanguan News and the Sichuan Provincial Health Commission jointly launched an online solicitation activity for Sichuan's "College Student Village Doctors·Youth Faces". We received submissions from many college student village doctors. After careful reading and comprehensive evaluation, we selected 10 "College Student Village Doctors·Youth Faces".
Behind every submission is a group of young and energetic faces. Some of them, influenced by their families, took over the baton of "village doctor"; some "returned to the past" and took root in their hometowns to realize their childhood dreams; some came to the longed plateau with longing, overcame language barriers, and became "confidants" of herders; some relied on their expertise to become "TCM consultants" and used acupuncture to relieve patients' pain; some cared about the countryside and provided timely medical services to the villagers; some developed "side jobs" and spread health knowledge whenever possible; some were like "timely rain" and provided medical care and medicine to villagers in remote areas; some were rigorous and meticulous and became "health record quality inspectors" to protect the health information of every villager...
On the occasion of China's Doctors' Day on August 19, let's take a look at who are the "College Student Village Doctors·Youth Faces" in Sichuan. (Ranking in no particular order)
