In mid-August, the "Glimmer of Light" summer social practice team of Changzhou Information Vocational and Technical College came to Puyang Zhongyuan Foreign Language School, bringing a unique "summer care" experience to the left-behind children there.
Before the team was established, a student said that there were a group of primary school students who needed to stay in school during the summer vacation in their hometown of Puyang. They wanted to form a summer teaching team with their classmates and go to Puyang to bring care and warmth to the children. After learning about the specific situation of these children, many students expressed their willingness to join or provide help to the team to the best of their ability. Although 800 kilometers away, this love that "took off" from Changzhou has "landed" smoothly in Puyang.

Red Journey: Learn the Spirit and Set aspirations
The students who went to Puyang Zhongyuan Foreign Language School to teach were all student candidates for party membership or active members. By combing through the red culture of Henan Province, they not only deepened and enriched their own party history knowledge, but also hoped to help people around them through their own practice. Team member Ding Tengteng combined the learning habits and interests of primary school students and taught a theme class called "Immortal Monument, Eternal Belief", so that after learning red knowledge and experiencing red culture, students can also build confidence and firm beliefs, grow healthily and learn efficiently in self-affirmation and encouragement.
Heart to Heart: Build Confidence and Grow Together
In order to further understand the physical and mental state of left-behind children and better help them grow, the team members carried out three activities based on the analysis of the questionnaire content: "Know Yourself", "Dragon Head and Dragon Tail", and "'Blind Man' and 'Crutch'". "Know Yourself" allows students to quietly think about where they can improve in their busy study life, so as to deepen their impression and effectively improve. The two activities of "Dragon Head and Dragon Tail" and "'Blind Man' and 'Crutch'" are aimed at mobilizing the enthusiasm of students and giving full play to their qualities of helping each other. "This game makes us know that we often need help from others in our lives. We must learn to trust others. This is not only an affirmation of others, but also brings people closer together." After the activity, the students present raised their hands enthusiastically and expressed their opinions one by one.
The beauty of competition: showing style and strengthening the body
The most popular word this summer is undoubtedly "Paris Olympics". The fighting spirit shown by the Olympic athletes is moving and admirable. The lecturer of this class, Wang Jiapei, first popularized Olympic knowledge to the students in the form of a knowledge quiz. Afterwards, the students formed teams freely to carry out the "Grab 11" table tennis competition and the "Shuttlecock Stacking" quantity competition. During the event, students who are good at a certain sport actively participated in the competition, and students who are not good at the sport said they also wanted to learn. So the team members and other students came forward to teach and guide, and while the "excellent players" showed their strength, they also did not forget to cultivate "seed players". After the event, according to the number of red flowers of the students, the summer social practice team presented the students with the prepared learning supplies and encouragement certificates, hoping that the students can be more proactive in their future studies and strive for greater progress.
Changzhou Information Vocational and Technical College has always encouraged students with the school motto of "Virtue and Diligence" and educated students with the style of study of "Thinking and Seeking Truth". The three types of summer social practice activities conducted at Puyang Zhongyuan Foreign Language School are an exercise for social practice members.
