On August 17, Beijing Public Transport launched a sightseeing bus route along the beautiful central axis, allowing tourists to take a ride to admire the magnificent and orderly city painting of Beijing's central axis, which blends the ancient and modern.Photo by Deng Wei)
On the morning of August 17, the beautiful central axis day tour route was opened. Under the Zhengyangmen Arrow Tower, the green antique tram was very eye-catching, and tourists came over from time to time to inquire about the route information.
"The new pure electric antique tram is what we purchased this year. It has a longer endurance and can run three or four laps on a full charge." Yun Haibing from the Market Operation and Management Department of Beijing Tourism Distribution Center introduced that the speed of the vehicle is controlled at 30 to 50 kilometers per hour while it is running, and passengers can appreciate the 15 cultural heritage sites along the central axis up close.
When you board the imitation wood carriage, you will be transported back to the old days by the red lanterns and palace walls. Above the window, there are also introductions to the scenic spots and historical sites on the central axis, such as Zhengyang Gate, Yongding Gate, and Drum Tower.
At 10 a.m., the day tour line officially departed. "Everyone, look out the window on the right. This Gothic building is the Zhengyangmen East Station of the Beijing-Fengtian Railway..." "The Yongdingmen in front of us used to be the main gate of Beijing's outer city and the southern starting point of Beijing's central axis..." As the vehicle moved forward, the tour guide told the past and present of the famous building.
The day tour bus departs from Qianmen, heads south to Yongdingmen, and then heads north all the way to the Bell and Drum Tower.
"The Central Axis was successfully listed as a World Heritage Site. Today I brought my children here to experience it in depth. It is inconvenient to park and check in when driving by yourself. This route is very convenient. The car is antique and there are people explaining it, so the children can further understand the history of the ancient capital." said citizen Yu Chao. Next to Yu Chao, his 5-year-old son looked out the window and asked questions curiously from time to time.
Yun Haibing introduced that the Damei Central Axis daily sightseeing line is equipped with 20 buses, which operate from 10:00 to 17:00 every day, and will depart when full, with a maximum departure interval of 30 minutes. (Sun Hongyang)
