"In recent years, the friendly cooperation between Myanmar and China has continued to develop, creating many opportunities for young people from Myanmar to study in China." Annan from Myanmar's Kachin State said that many of his friends are learning Chinese. Myanmar's recognition of Chinese is getting higher and higher, and Chinese has become an important option for language learning.

"I came to China to learn the language from 2018 to 2019 and felt the friendliness of the local people. Although we didn't speak the language, many people helped me enthusiastically." Annan, a sophomore majoring in international economics and trade at Guizhou University, told reporters that his first trip to China made him feel extremely warm and yearning.
"In 2023, I learned about the study abroad program of the China-ASEAN Education Exchange Week, and felt that this was a good opportunity to come to China for in-depth study." After determining his ambition to study abroad, Annan began to prepare for the Chinese Proficiency Test.
"I taught myself Chinese. Before coming to China to study, I could only speak very simple daily conversations. Through hard work, I passed the language test before the application deadline. After coming to Guizhou University, the teachers and classmates of the School of International Education and the School of Economics cared about me very much. In order to ensure that I kept up with the teaching progress, everyone also carefully tutored me in professional knowledge." Annan said with gratitude.
"My Chinese classmates are very brave in expressing themselves when learning the language, which is a great inspiration for me to learn Chinese." Annan praised the lectures at Guizhou University: "The teacher often asked me what I thought in class instead of providing standard answers. This kind of creative and inspiring education has benefited me a lot."

Annan's teachers and students at Guizhou University not only helped him adapt to the pace of study, but also took him around to experience Guizhou's rural characteristic industries and folk culture.
Last summer, Annan participated in the "Perceiving China - The Road to Revitalization of Magical Leaves" event held by the school. He followed everyone into the beautiful countryside of Guizhou, picked tea in the mountains, and learned tea-making skills at a tea processing factory. He gained a deeper understanding of tea culture and Guizhou's ethnic minority culture.
While studying at Guizhou University, Annan actively participated in various events and activities. At the 2023 China-ASEAN Education Exchange Week, Annan, as a volunteer, provided translation services for Burmese "family members" who came to China to attend the conference; in June this year, at the National College Student Market Research and Analysis Competition held in Hefei, Annan and his teammates won the first prize in unity and cooperation.
