According to a report by Reference News on August 16, citing RIA Novosti, an official statement from the Internal Affairs Bureau of the Russian-controlled Kharkiv Oblast military-civilian administration said that the Ukrainian army intends to attack nuclear facilities in Kursk and Zaporizhia - the nuclear power plants in Kurchatov and Energodar.
The statement, published on the Telegram social platform, said: "According to information received from military sources, the interrogation of Ukrainian prisoners of war from the 82nd Airborne Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Army showed that the Ukrainian leadership planned to strike nuclear facilities in the Russian Federation.It is known that Ukraine intends to attack the nuclear power plants in Kurchatov and Zaporizhia Energodar in the Kursk Region.
The statement reportedly noted that the Kiev regime "had received orders to escalate tensions to the maximum extent possible."
