In order to effectively care for workers in new employment forms and alleviate the problem of "difficulty in caring for" their children during the holidays, the Shenzhen Luohu Donghu Street Federation of Trade Unions organized the "Caring for Employees' Happy Summer Vacation" summer camp ukulele training class for children of workers in new employment forms.
The summer camp will last from July 21 to August 12, and mainly recruits children of newly employed workers in the area. It is divided into two age groups: 6-9 years old and 10-13 years old, benefiting nearly 40 families of newly employed workers. On the afternoon of August 12, the Donghu Subdistrict Federation of Trade Unions carefully prepared a performance of the summer camp results and invited all the parents of the students to the event site to observe. The performance was rich and colorful, with ukulele songs, dance songs, and electric piano solos, which won rounds of applause from the audience. The event also issued camp certificates and souvenirs to the students, and also provided heatstroke prevention and cooling supplies to the newly employed workers.
"This summer camp allowed me to learn about musical instruments that I had not been exposed to in depth in school before. I had a very fulfilling and meaningful summer vacation, and I was very happy," said student Peng when talking about her feelings about participating in this summer camp. Parent Ms. Ouyang also fully affirmed and sincerely thanked the summer vacation activities brought by the Street Federation of Trade Unions and the Community Federation of Trade Unions. She said: "We are usually busy with work, and we can only get together with our children during the winter and summer vacations. I was worried that I had no arrangements for the summer vacation, and my child was also interested in ukulele, so I quickly signed up. The child gained a lot from this summer camp, and we also feel very relieved."
