Chinanews.com, Beijing, August 16 (Reporter Chen Hang) As an important part of the 2024 "Canal Drama" performance season, the opening performance season of the Mumu Theater and the first Fanxing Drama Village Parent-Child Drama Festival opened in Beijing on the 16th. The event will last until October, providing audiences of different ages with a variety of artistic enjoyment through a variety of art activities such as drama performances, opera, intangible cultural heritage, picture book classes, and celebrity exchange classes.

"Canal Drama" is a performing arts brand created by Tongzhou District, Beijing to implement the construction of Beijing as a "performing arts capital". The 2024 "Canal Drama" performance season is themed "Vibrant Tongzhou with the People Near and Far" and focuses on launching a series of performances in three main sections: Taihu Jazz Music Festival, Starry Drama Village Parent-Child Drama Festival, and Happy Twist Comedy Life Festival. It will launch nearly 1,300 performances in six major units: high art, youth drama, children's drama, new folk art, boutique drama, and benefit performances, constantly meeting the spiritual and cultural needs of the people.
Hao Weili, executive general manager of Mumu Theater, said that during this drama festival, there were 81 parent-child themed performances and activities, including 39 parent-child performances at Mumu Theater, 31 parent-child activities at Mumu Bookstore, and 11 grassroots performances and cultural activities in Tongzhou District. Everyone is welcome to come to Mumu Theater to appreciate the charm of drama art.

This year's drama festival opens with the children's drama "The Little Magician", which, with its unique magic elements and parent-child interaction, sets the tone of joy and fantasy for the drama festival. Next, the parent-child drama "DRAG-E" introduced from Spain, the interactive experience concert "Zootopia" from the Beijing National Orchestra, and the popular children's Peking Opera trilogy "Children's Opera Club" will successively appear on the drama festival stage.
