Kuala Lumpur, August 15 (Reporter Chen Yue) Volunteers from China Communications Construction Corporation's Malaysia East Coast Railway Project took an ecological education trip along the Klang River on August 15. The person in charge of the Malaysia East Coast Railway Project said that he hoped that through this activity, the environmental awareness of the builders of the Malaysia East Coast Railway would be enhanced, and the understanding of the importance of the Klang River Basin ecosystem would be deepened, so as to better realize the development of the "green railway" of the Malaysia East Coast Railway.
The event was hosted by CCCC Malaysia East Coast Rail Link Project and Malaysia Rail Link Corporation. Volunteers from various departments of the Malaysia East Coast Rail Link Project went upstream along the Klang River to learn about the ecosystem of the Klang River Basin and the water quality improvement achievements in recent years, and visited the garbage collection and treatment device set up by the Selangor State Government on the Klang River. The volunteers also went to the park near the Klang River to carry out environmental protection practices such as garbage cleaning and mangrove restoration and planting.

The railway in the Klang River Basin is located in the Klang River Valley area of Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, which is the most densely populated and economically developed region in Malaysia. It passes through environmentally sensitive areas such as industrial areas, residential areas, forest areas and palm oil plantations. In order to actively respond to the environmental protection requirements of the project's "green railway" development, the East Coast Rail Link project has integrated various environmental education activities into daily work, held an environmental protection theme event "Caring for Our Rivers", organized and participated in animal protection training programs with wildlife protection departments, and regularly carried out environmental protection awareness training and emergency drills to promote the concept of ecological civilization of harmonious coexistence between man and nature.
It is reported that as a key project of the "Belt and Road" jointly built by China and Malaysia, the East Coast Rail Link project in Malaysia adheres to the environmental protection concept of "Five Green Constructions", actively avoids environmentally sensitive areas during the planning and design process, and reduces the impact on the ecological environment along the line; at the same time, through the promotion and application of advanced process technologies, green construction requirements are implemented throughout the entire process of production and construction, and the project is committed to creating a green ecological transportation project with sustainable development throughout its life cycle.
