It is reported that on August 17, 2024, Beijing Tourism Distribution Center will optimize and open 8 sightseeing bus routes with themes such as the Beautiful Central Axis and Chaoyang, providing tourists with new tourism products with richer types, better services and more comfortable experiences.

On July 27, 2024, the 46th World Heritage Conference of UNESCO passed a resolution to include the "Central Axis of Beijing" in the World Heritage List. This news has once again heated up the already hot tourism market in Beijing. In order to enrich the new ways and experiences of urban sightseeing bus tours and stimulate the vitality of the cultural and tourism consumption market, the Beijing Tourism Distribution Center took quick action. After market research and on-site route surveys, the integration of transportation and tourism has accelerated, and 8 new sightseeing bus routes have been upgraded in a timely manner, injecting new vitality into the cultural and tourism market in Beijing.

The sightseeing buses on the Great Central Axis are all new antique trams, allowing visitors to fully explore the cultural heritage of the 15 ancient capitals and experience the magnificent and orderly city landscape that blends the past and the present. This route offers two service modes: day tour and night tour:

Day Tour Line

The first and last stop is Qianmen-Gulou, departure time: 10:00-17:00 every day, the line length is 12 kilometers, there is no station in the middle, one-way operation, passing Zhengyangmen, Yongdingmen, Temple of Heaven, Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Jingshan Park, Wanning Bridge, Bell and Drum Tower and other attractions along the way, the fare is 50 yuan/person, including interpretation service, and cultural and creative products can be purchased on the bus.

Night Tour Line

The first and last stop is Qianmen-Qianmen. Tourists are required to make reservations on the official online platform to take the bus. The scheduled departure time is 19:00. The route is 25 kilometers long and there are no stops along the way. It passes Zhengyangmen, Yongdingmen, Temple of Heaven, Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Jingshan Park, Wanning Bridge, Bell and Drum Tower and other attractions along the way. The fare is 268 yuan/person (book online at least 1 day in advance, departure requires 10 people or more, and children under 1.3 meters tall do not occupy a seat and are free of charge). It includes interpretation services, folk art performances, Beijing-style roast duck set meals or Western light meals, and cultural and creative products can be purchased on the bus.

The "Trendy Chaoyang" series of themed city sightseeing routes include two special routes: "Qianmen to Blue Harbor" and "Bird's Nest to Yansha Wharf", passing through many Beijing fashion and trendy landmarks such as China World Trade Center CBD, Chaoyang Park, Blue Harbor and the two Olympic venues.

Chao Chaoyang (Qianmen-Blue Harbor) Night Sightseeing Bus is a combined transport service for city night sightseeing + boat and water system sightseeing. The first and last stops are Qianmen-Blue Harbor. The departure time is from April 15 to October 15 every year. Qianmen: scheduled departure at 18:00, Blue Harbor: scheduled departure at 20:30. The route is 12 kilometers long and there is no stop along the way. The bus passes Tiananmen Square, the National Museum, Beijing Ancient Observatory, Guomao CBD, Chaoyang Park, Blue Harbor and other attractions along the way. You can take a boat to visit the Liangma River waterfront. Equipped vehicle: new digital double-decker sightseeing bus (standard version), weekday fare is 180 yuan/person, weekend and holiday fare is 230 yuan/person (discount package includes sightseeing bus ticket + sightseeing boat ticket), including explanation service, and cultural and creative products can be purchased on the bus.

Chao Chaoyang (Bird's Nest - Yansha Wharf) Night Sightseeing Bus, the first and last stops are Bird's Nest - Yansha Wharf, departure time: from April 15 to October 15 every year, Bird's Nest: scheduled departure at 19:00, Yansha Wharf: scheduled departure at 20:30; the route is 17 kilometers long, with no stops along the way, passing through the Bird's Nest, Water Cube, Beijing Olympic Tower and Liangma River Bank and other business districts and popular check-in spots. Equipped vehicle: new digital double-decker sightseeing bus (deluxe version), one-way fare 128 yuan/person, round-trip fare 178 yuan/person, including explanation service, mineral water, dried fruit snacks, and optional cultural and creative products.

In addition, tourists can also choose Beijing-style roast duck set meal, Western-style fast food set meal, and Yansha Wharf sightseeing boat ticket program through online advance reservation.

The Forbidden City sightseeing bus at Qianmen is operated by antique trams, with the first and last stops being Qianmen-Qianmen. The departure time is from April 15 to November 15, Qianmen: 9:00-17:00; from November 16 to April 14, Qianmen: 9:30-17:00. The route is 10 kilometers long, passing Zhengyangmen, Tiananmen Square, Zhongshan Park, the Forbidden City, Beihai, Jingshan, Wangfujing and other attractions along the way. The ticket price is 50 yuan per person, including the guide service.

The Jingshan and Houhai shuttle bus is operated as a double-decker sightseeing bus. The first and last stops are Shenwu Gate and Beihai North Gate. The departure time is from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 17:00. The route is 5 kilometers long. There are Art Museum North, Nanluoguxiang and Di'anmen East stops along the way. It passes the Forbidden City, Jingshan Park, Peking University Red Building, National Art Museum of China, Nanluoguxiang, Shichahai and other attractions. The fare is 10 yuan/person

The Chang'an Avenue Night View Sightseeing Bus is operated by antique trams, with the first and last stops being Qianmen-Qianmen. The departure time is from 17:00 to 22:00 every day. The route is 8 kilometers long with no stops along the way. It passes by Tiananmen Square, the National Museum, the Beijing Ancient Observatory and other attractions. The fare is 50 yuan per person, including tour guide services. Cultural and creative products can be purchased on the bus.

The Qianmen Bird's Nest and Water Cube Night View Sightseeing Bus is a double-decker sightseeing bus with the first and last stop being Qianmen-Qianmen. The departure time is from May 1st to October 15th every year, with a scheduled departure time of 19:00. The route is 30 kilometers long and passes Zhengyangmen, Peking University Red Building, Shichahai, the Bird's Nest, the Water Cube, Deshengmen and other attractions along the way. It stops at the "Minzuyuan Road" ("Print Beijing" Tourism Experience Hall) for 90 minutes. The fare is 60 yuan/person, including the interpretation service. The Mutianyu Great Wall immersive experience bus uses a deluxe version of an antique tram, with the first and last stops being Qianmen - Mutianyu Great Wall - Qianmen. Departure time: from May 1 to October 15 every year, the bus departs regularly at 7:00 from Qianmen and 15:00 from Mutianyu Great Wall (groups must be more than 5 people, no departure without a reservation). The route is 75 kilometers long and the fare is 688 yuan/person, including the full fare, Mutianyu Scenic Area tickets, interpretation services and round-trip cable car tickets, snacks, mineral water, and Yusutong (fast entry, no queuing for the cable car).
