Yangzi Evening News reported on August 16 (reporter Xu Jing) According to data from the China Automobile Dealers Association, the domestic retail penetration rate of new energy vehicles reached 51.1% in July, an increase of 15 percentage points from the 36.1% penetration rate in the same period last year, which means that more than half of every 100 passenger car sales are new energy vehicles. The latest statistics show that by 2030, the number of new energy vehicles in Jiangsu is expected to exceed 10 million.
According to Qichacha data, the number of registered new energy vehicle-related companies in my country has increased year by year in the past decade. In 2023, the number of registered companies exceeded 300,000 for the first time, an increase of 26.1% year-on-year to 316,000, setting a new record in the past decade. In terms of corporate stock, there are 1.09 million new energy vehicle-related companies in my country.
In terms of regional distribution, Shandong and Guangdong have 110,000 and 108,000 new energy vehicle-related enterprises respectively, ranking the top two; in terms of city distribution, new energy vehicle-related enterprises are concentrated in provincial capitals, with Haikou, Shanghai and Guangzhou becoming cities with a stock of more than 30,000 new energy vehicle-related enterprises, ranking the top three.
As of the end of last year, my country's new energy vehicle industry has ranked first in global production and sales for nine consecutive years. In Jiangsu, the export value of the "new three" products including new energy vehicles reached 194.9 billion yuan in 2023, ranking first in the country, and the export scale of new energy vehicles increased by 3.6 times year-on-year.
Last year, Jiangsu Province's new energy vehicle sales reached 742,000 units, up 36.6% year-on-year, and sales reached 130 billion yuan, up 37.7% year-on-year. The top ten new energy vehicle brands in Jiangsu Province accounted for 67% of the sales, and the top ten models accounted for 40% of the sales.
According to statistics, in 2023, 2,852 automobile manufacturing enterprises in Jiangsu Province achieved operating income of 1.12 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 17.4%, accounting for 6.7% of the province's industrial enterprises and 11.9% of the national automobile manufacturing industry, ranking second in the country; the total profit was 57.57 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 29.3%. The annual automobile production was 1.989 million vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 21.1%, 9.5 percentage points higher than the national average; the annual output of new energy vehicles exceeded 1 million for the first time, reaching 1.047 million vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 52.4%, 16.6 percentage points faster than the national average, and the national output accounted for 10.9%. The output of power battery cells was 238.7GWh, a year-on-year increase of 18.7%, accounting for about 36.3% of the domestic output.
