Weifang Qingzhou Ancient City is a national 5A-level scenic spot with a history of more than 2,200 years. There are more than 100 ancient streets and alleys, dozens of scenic spots and exhibition halls, and a large number of ancient buildings in the area. It is a cultural tourist destination with distinct regional characteristics and Ming and Qing architectural styles. It is reported that Weifang Mobile recently launched a special network upgrade operation in the ancient city, empowering digital cultural tourism products and services with "mobile speed", bringing tourists a new travel experience.
In order to preserve the traditional pattern and historical features of the ancient city, which integrates mountains, water and city, the "high pole + macro station" method could not be used in the early network deployment, and the ancient city lacked effective 5G network coverage as a whole. During holidays, the flow of people surged, and it was impossible to achieve rapid expansion, which affected the travel experience of tourists. In this special operation, by building a new 5G dual-band micro station and replacing the existing 4G old equipment, 5G effective continuous coverage was achieved; at the same time, 4G capacity was elastically expanded, and 4G equipment at 9 points in the ancient city pedestrian street was replaced. After completion, one 5G community was opened, and interference was reduced by merging communities during off-peak hours, and capacity was quickly superimposed by rapid soft expansion in the background during holidays.
After the site was opened, after on-site testing, the overall 5G RSRP was around -65.75dbm, the SINR was 22.31, the average download rate was 514.93mbps, and the upload rate was 93.18mbps; the average download rate of the fixed point was 926.62mbps, and the upload rate was 195mbps.
Recently, mobile volunteers came to the ancient city and carried out a live broadcast event called "5G+VR Panoramic Cloud Tour of the Ancient City". Using VR panoramic technology and relying on 5G network support, tourists watching the live broadcast from thousands of miles away can also experience the historical atmosphere of the ancient city in person.
In the next step, Weifang Mobile will continue to implement the "signal upgrade" special action, promote the commercial use of 5G-A technology, strengthen network coverage of key scenic spots, and allow tourists to enjoy various digital tourist attractions.
