Canalys: Middle East smartphone shipments to reach 11.5 million units in Q2 2024

IT Home reported on August 16 that according to the latest report released by Canalys, in the second quarter of 2024, smartphone shipments in the Middle East (excluding Turkey) reached 11.5 million units, a year-on-year increase of 20%.

IT Home attaches the specific brand performance as follows:

  • Samsung shipped 3.3 million units, with a market share of 28%, a year-on-year decrease of 5%;

  • Xiaomi shipped 2.3 million units, with a market share of 20%, a year-on-year increase of 70%;

  • Transsion shipped 1.8 million units, with a market share of 16%, a year-on-year increase of 3%;

  • Apple shipped 1.1 million units, with a market share of 10%, a year-on-year decrease of 6%;

  • Honor shipped 700,000 units, with a market share of 6%, a year-on-year increase of 67%.

The report shows that in the second quarter of 2024, driven by strong growth in the retail and catering industries, Saudi Arabia's smartphone market surged 13%. In addition, the UAE market brought a significant increase of 19%, and Iraq's shipments increased by 22%. Qatar and Kuwait achieved growth of 14% and 17% respectively, driven by holiday consumption and easing inflation.
