Xinhua News Agency, Moscow, August 15 (Reporter Zhao Bing) The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the establishment of the Border Region Military Security Coordination Committee on the 15th. Russian Defense Minister Belousov presided over the first meeting of the committee on the same day.

Belousov said he had ordered the establishment of a border region military security coordination committee in the Ministry of Defense, covering Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk regions. The purpose of establishing this committee is to improve the efficiency of providing comprehensive support for the troops that perform the task of guarding the border and protecting the territory and people in the (border) region.

The coordination committee is composed of the deputy defense minister in charge, the head of the military administration, the representative of the General Staff and the governors of the three border regions of Russia. The coordination committee meets at least once a week.

The Ukrainian army launched an attack on Russia's Kursk Oblast on the 6th of this month. The Russian National Anti-Terrorism Committee announced on the 9th that it would implement an anti-terrorist action system in Kursk, Belgorod and Bryansk Oblasts from that day.
