The Zhengzhou Port Area needs to recruit 2,900 operators and 1,100 technicians, with a salary cap of 7,500 yuan and 9,000 yuan respectively. Anyang Wadian also needs 1,700 operators.

A Foxconn labor agent said that the current port area wage has dropped from the peak of 27 yuan/hour at the end of July to 25 yuan/hour, and the rebate for 90 days of employment has dropped from 8,800 yuan to 7,500 yuan.

BYD settled in Zhengzhou Airport Economic Development Zone in September 2021, with a production capacity of 400,000 vehicles in the first phase and 600,000 vehicles in the second phase. The intensive recruitment is due to the hot sales of the new model Song L DM-i. The car was launched on July 25, with sales exceeding 10,000 in the first week. It is mainly produced at the Zhengzhou base. A human resources manager of BYD predicts that the production of BYD in Zhengzhou will double in September and October, and the demand for recruitment will be greater than in previous years.

On the other hand, Foxconn's Zhengzhou factory, which is preparing for the September iPhone launch, is also in the peak of recruitment. The requirements for general workers in electronics factories and automobile factories are not high. The previous online rumors that Apple's Indian production capacity returned to mainland China, resulting in large-scale recruitment at Foxconn in Zhengzhou, are not true.

Foxconn in Zhengzhou contributes to the vast majority of Henan Province's mobile phone exports. In the first half of this year, the number and value of Henan's mobile phone exports were nearly halved year-on-year. The official explanation is that this is mainly because some of Apple's production capacity has shifted to domestic sales.
