Firaxis Games' new masterpiece "Civilization 7" will release its first real-machine demo at the Cologne Games Show on August 20. A few days ago, Firaxis' community manager posted on the Reddit forum to confirm that this game will no longer require the 2K launcher to run the game.

It wrote: "Hello everyone, here is a quick update. Earlier today, the 2K launcher for Civilization VI was removed from the Steam platform, and plans to remove it from Epic in the near future. We have also confirmed that Civilization 7 will not use the 2K launcher either."

However, although the game no longer requires the 2K launcher, the Steam listing still shows a logo that requires a 2K account. It is unclear if this will change.

According to the previous financial report of publisher 2K's parent company T2, "Civilization 7" will be released before March 31, 2025.
