"Science and Technology Innovation Board Daily" August 15th (Reporter Huang Xinyi) Today, Huawei Terminal Weibo announced that the Huawei Mate60 series has started autumn promotions, with a maximum discount of 800 yuan. This is the first official price reduction since the release of this series of mobile phones.

Among them, Huawei Mate60 has a discount of 500 yuan, with a starting price of 4999 yuan; Mate60 Pro has a discount of 800 yuan, with a starting price of 5699 yuan; Mate60 Pro+ has a discount of 800 yuan, with a starting price of 8199 yuan. However, the price of Huawei Mate60RS Extraordinary Master has not been adjusted.

Last month, Huawei also launched a limited-time discount for the entire Pura 70 series, with a 1,000 yuan discount on the Pura 70 Ultra, priced from 8,999 yuan; a 500 yuan reduction on the Pura 70, now priced from 4,999 yuan. In addition, the Pura 70 Pro and Pura 70 Pro+ were reduced by 800 yuan.

Someone from the consumer electronics industry chain told reporters,This is the first price cut for the Huawei Mate 60 series, which may be in preparation for the launch of the Huawei Mate 70 series. Earlier, there were reports that the Huawei Mate 70 series might be released in November.。”

It is worth mentioning that from October to November, domestic high-end flagships will be launched one after another. In addition to the Mate 70 series, the vivo X200 series, OPPO Find X8 series, Xiaomi 15 series, OnePlus 13, iQOO13, and Honor Magic7 series are expected to be released one after another, and a flagship mobile phone melee is about to take place.

Data from market research firm TechInsights shows that in the second quarter of 2024, Huawei's global smartphone shipments increased by 49% year-on-year to 11.6 million units. At the same time, due to the large proportion of high-end models (Mate and Pura series combination), its wholesale average selling price (ASP) and wholesale revenue both hit record highs. The Chinese market remains Huawei's main market, accounting for 89% of its global smartphone shipments.

TechInsights said Huawei's global shipment growth was mainly due to the Asia-Pacific region, with China playing a key role. Huawei ranked third in the Chinese smartphone market this quarter. However, the lower-than-expected growth suggests that Huawei faces challenges in pricing strategy, quality control and system optimization. More likely, the obstacles Apple faces in China (especially Apple Intelligence) will still leave room for Huawei to grow in the high-end segment of its home market.
