The entire Internet medical industry has been around for more than 20 years, but the industry has its own particularities. Medical consumption behavior is a low-frequency behavior and cannot be induced by humans. The road to commercialization of Internet medical companies is not easy. Around 2015, Internet medical care was divided into two major camps: "medicine" and "pharmaceuticals". One camp was startups such as Good Doctor Online, WeDoctor, and Chunyu that continued to polish medical services and explore commercial closed loops; the other was platforms such as JD Health, Ping An Good Doctor, and Ali Health that relied on medical e-commerce business as their main source of income. In the second camp, some companies have achieved profitability. The first camp is still struggling with how to achieve profitability.
In the process of commercialization of Internet medical enterprises, Good Doctor Online has always been a special existence. For many years, the company has adhered to the "three no's" strategy, that is, not to earn profits from drugs, not to build offline hospitals, not to engage in medical advertising business, and simply rely on medical service payment. In this way, although Good Doctor Online has won market reputation, profitability is still a problem.
Since last year, Haodaifu Online has also been exposed to rumors of layoffs and acquisitions.
