Affected by heavy rainfall, at 12:40 on the 13th, the embankment on the left bank of the Laoha River in Baitaiyingzi Village, Taipingdi Town, Songshan District, Chifeng City collapsed.

Under the overall coordination of the local flood control and drought relief headquarters, the rescue officers and soldiers and militia took on tasks such as road reinforcement, sandbag filling, and embankment patrol. At the same time, the rescue troops worked together with local emergency rescue forces to fully promote the closure process.
At the blocking site, dump trucks entered the unloading dike one after another, quickly dumped the entire truckload of rocks, and then immediately withdrew; excavators and bulldozers flattened the rocks at the breach and built construction platforms to ensure the operation of mechanical equipment, the passing of vehicles, and U-turns, thereby improving the efficiency of stone transportation; the PLA, armed police officers and soldiers, and militia worked closely together to organize the loading of sandbags on both sides of the breach, in preparation for subsequent reinforcement.
On the afternoon of August 14, with the addition of a truckload of larger rocks, the breach was successfully closed. So far, the officers and soldiers of the task force and the militia have worked day and night to fill and transport more than 28,000 sandbags and load and unload more than 2,000 pieces of flood control materials. Afterwards, they cooperated with local emergency rescue forces to reinforce and maintain the embankment to ensure safety.
"The people's soldiers serve the people, and we are always ready!" The officers and soldiers at the scene said that the disaster situation is an order, responsibility is more important than life, and it is worth it to do our best to protect the safety of people's lives and property, no matter how hard or tiring it is.
