According to reports from Ukrainian and Russian media on the 13th, citing the British Daily Telegraph, despite Ukraine's request, the British government did not agree to Ukraine's use of the "Storm Shadow" cruise missile developed by Britain, France and other countries to invade Russia's Kursk region.

The Daily Telegraph quoted a source in London as saying that the British government's position on the use of the Storm Shadow missile, which has a range of 250 kilometers, "has not changed."

Currently, Britain allows Ukraine to use Storm Shadow to attack Crimea and other areas claimed by Kiev, but not internationally recognized Russian territory, because Britain fears it could escalate the conflict.

According to the Daily Telegraph, how Ukraine uses these missiles is not only up to London, France also has a say in the issue because the missile was produced in close cooperation with France.

French President Emmanuel Macron has said Ukraine could strike deep into Russian territory, but only to the point where Russia launched the attack.

Russia Today TV reported that a spokesman for the British Prime Minister's Office said that the British side has "made it clear that the equipment provided by the UK is to defend Ukraine."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed last month that he had received permission from Britain to attack internationally recognised Russian territory with Storm Shadow.

But a Daily Telegraph source said at the time that the situation had become "more delicate." As for whether Ukraine could launch a Storm Shadow missile into the heart of Russia, the source stressed: "This is impossible."

△The British Daily Telegraph reported on July 11 that the British Ministry of Defense clarified that Britain would not allow Ukraine to use the "Storm Shadow" missile in Russia.

Russia has previously accused Ukraine of using Storm Shadow missiles to attack critical infrastructure, killing civilians.

Last week, Ukraine launched an attack on the Kursk region, the largest assault on the Russian border since the conflict began. Russia accused Ukraine of indiscriminately targeting civilians.
