Mother and Baby Vision explains why more and more infants and young children are suffering from allergies nowadays?
According to a joint survey conducted by the China Business Mother and Baby Industry Research Institute and the Qianhou Mama Medical Research Institute, more than 40% of babies currently have allergies and more than 70% of babies have eczema! !
Regarding eczema, a report in the China Women's News in 2022 pointed out that the incidence of eczema in Chinese infants has been at a high level. A survey report showed that the incidence of infant eczema is 75.6%. The first onset of eczema is more common in infants under 6 months old, with a prevalence rate as high as 73.96%. Its characteristic is that the age of onset is relatively concentrated, and the younger the age, the higher the incidence.
In the 1980s, my country conducted statistics showing that the incidence of eczema was less than 1%; in the 1990s, the incidence was between 2% and 3%. Today, a joint survey by the China Business Maternal and Infant Industry Research Institute and the Qianhou Mama Medical Research Institute shows that more than 40% of babies currently have allergies.
Clinically, the prevalence of allergies and eczema among Chinese children has increased rapidly in the past 20 years, with the highest incidence among children under 1 year old. This phenomenon should arouse the attention of all parents.
The medical community generally believes that there are three causes of allergies: the first is genetic factors; the second is environmental factors; and the third is dietary factors.
