Today (the 15th) is the 2024 National Ecological Day. This year's theme is "Accelerating the comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development". The main event was held in Sanming, Fujian. A series of important achievements in the comprehensive green transformation were released on site.

A relevant person in charge of the National Development and Reform Commission stated at the main event that my country is one of the countries with the fastest reduction in energy intensity in the world. In the first three years of the 14th Five-Year Plan, excluding raw material energy and non-fossil energy consumption, the national energy intensity has been reduced by about 7.3% in total; my country has the largest installed capacity of renewable energy in the world and the fastest development speed in the world; in addition,my country has built the world's largest and most complete new energy industry chain.

Zhao Chenxin, Deputy Director of the National Development and Reform Commission:The production of photovoltaic modules has ranked first in the world for 16 consecutive years, providing 70% of photovoltaic modules and 60% of wind power equipment in the world.In the first half of 2024, my country's new energy vehicle market penetration rate reached 35.2%, ranking first among major economies.

The main activities of the National Ecological Day in 2024 include the press conference on important achievements of ecological civilization, the theoretical seminar and experience exchange meeting on ecological civilization construction, the first national ecological product recommendation and exhibition, etc. After carbon emission verification and certification, this year's National Ecological Day main activities will achieve "carbon neutrality".
