Beijing News: According to the WeChat public account released by Beijing Tongzhou, the Tongzhou District Joint Conference Office for the Prevention and Control of Dangerous Forest Pests issued the 2024 Autumn Aerial Spraying Announcement on August 13. The announcement stated that in order to effectively prevent and control forest pests such as the gypsy moth and the poplar leaflet moth, Tongzhou District is scheduled to use "small helicopters" to carry out aerial spraying operations throughout the district from August 20 to September 20.
The key areas for this aerial spraying are major arterial roads such as the Sixth Ring Road, Tongyan Expressway, Beijing-Harbin Expressway, Beijing-Tianjin Expressway, Beijing-Shanghai Expressway, G103 National Highway, Huangxiao Road, Huangma Road, Jiude Road, Wuxing Road, Tongxiang Road, Tongfang Road, Zhangcai Road, and Zhangfeng Road, as well as forest belts on both sides of major rivers such as the Beiyunhe River, Chaobai River, Liangshui River, Yunchaojian River, and Fenggang River, and poplar forests around towns and villages.
The aerial spraying uses highly effective, low-toxic, low-residue insecticides such as Avermectin, Diflubenzuron, etc. purchased by the Beijing Municipal Garden and Green Resources Protection Center (Approval Service Center of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Garden and Greening). In order to ensure the prevention and control effect, the aircraft will be operated at low altitude. Relevant units and individuals in the aerial spraying operation area are requested to do a good job in the management and protection of livestock, poultry, bees, silkworms, etc.
