Guangxi News, China News Network, August 14 (Jiang Ruiqing) On August 13, the "Xin Shenyang" ship carrying 263,000 tons of Middle East crude oil entered the 300,000-ton crude oil terminal of Qinzhou Port with a heavy load. This is the first time since the terminal was put into use to receive and unload a very large crude oil tanker (VLCC) with a draft of 20 meters. The Guangxi Maritime Safety Administration escorted the "Xin Shenyang" to berth safely on site, effectively ensuring the safe and smooth water transportation of key energy materials.

The "Xin Shenyang" is 332.9 meters long, 60 meters wide and 29.8 meters deep, and is the main VLCC ship type for international maritime crude oil transportation. In order to implement the requirements of the special action for the safety rectification of ships carrying dangerous goods and ensure the safe entry of VLCC tankers into the port, the Guangxi Maritime Safety Administration conducted a special inspection of the navigation conditions of the 300,000-ton crude oil terminal in Qinzhou Port in strict accordance with the technical conditions for the navigation safety of heavy-loaded VLCCs, and conducted emergency real-ship testing and verification of the supporting tugboats. The "Xin Shenyang" tanker's entry and exit, berthing and unberthing conditions, safety operation plans and emergency safety measures were clarified in advance, and the terminal companies were urged to implement the main responsibility for production safety, and 6 high-powered tugboats were coordinated to assist in towing and berthing.
During the "Xin Shen Yang" ship's arrival at the port, the Guangxi Maritime Safety Administration dispatched two maritime patrol ships to carry out escort, giving full play to the comprehensive command and coordination function of the Guangxi Beibu Gulf Vessel Traffic Management Center, and providing full information guidance and safety services for the "Xin Shen Yang" ship's berthing through comprehensive means such as "opening a green channel + strengthening coordinated linkage + full-process technological escort". At 12:58, the "Xin Shen Yang" ship safely berthed at the crude oil terminal, and the Beibu Gulf Port once again broke the record for the VLCC heavy-load draft and the maximum cargo capacity of a single ship.
According to Zhou Ai, deputy director of the Qinzhou Maritime Safety Administration, with the full support of the maritime department, 33 large and super-large oil tankers have safely berthed and left since 2024, with a crude oil throughput of 5.5804 million tons. The 300,000-ton crude oil terminal in Qinzhou has achieved regular berthing of VLCC tankers, which has effectively promoted the high-quality development of the Guangxi National Comprehensive Energy Security Zone.
