It is reported that many Asian countries are interested in bidding for the 2036 Olympics. The International Olympic Committee stated that "double-digit national or regional Olympic committees have expressed interest in bidding."
The Korea Herald reported on the 12th that Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon recently expressed on social media his strong desire to bid for the 2036 Summer Olympics. He stressed that Seoul not only has perfect infrastructure and public safety measures, but also has the potential to host a profitable and successful Olympics.
In addition to South Korea, other Asian countries interested in hosting the 2036 Olympics include India, Saudi Arabia, and Indonesia. According to the Associated Press, India's bid has received strong support from the Ambani family and Prime Minister Modi. The Ambani family has strong financial resources. Mukesh Ambani, Asia's richest man, invited celebrities and members of the International Olympic Committee to attend the luxurious wedding for his son last month. His wife, Nita Ambani, a member of the International Olympic Committee, once said that hosting the Olympics is "a dream of 1.4 billion Indians."
Saudi Arabia and Qatar are also considered likely to bid for the 2036 Summer Olympics due to their rich experience in hosting games. Saudi Arabia has signed a long-term agreement with the International Olympic Committee to host the E-sports Olympics, and Qatar hosted the 2022 World Cup. The Associated Press said that another Asian country, Indonesia, is preparing to actively strive for the right to host the 2036 Olympics with its huge market of 280 million people and rapidly growing economic strength. If Egypt's bid is successful, it will become the first African country to host the Olympics.
