In mid-August in Hangzhou, the extreme high temperature of over 40 degrees finally subsided.

In the Sijiqing women's clothing market in Hangzhou, new autumn clothes have been launched.

Can't stop, shipping up to 5,000 pieces of autumn clothing a day

At around 9 o'clock in the morning on August 14, all the markets in Sijiqing were bustling with busy scenes.

There are large and small bags piled up in front of many stalls, and there are guys packing and organizing clothes that are about to be shipped.

"We put new autumn clothes on sale on July 27, and it has been more than half a month." Dandan, a business owner in the Italian-French Clothing City, said that all the summer clothes in the store have been cleared out, and more and more customers have come to buy autumn clothes in the past two days.

Dandan has worked in Sijiqing for more than ten years. In previous years, she mainly did the "second batch" bulk business. Starting this year, she transformed into the "first batch" business - getting goods from manufacturers and packing them directly.

However, the novice period is not bad. These days, she can sell more than 1,000 pieces a day, which is higher than expected.

Dandan is not the only one who has transformed. In a newly opened women's clothing stall on the second floor of the China Textile Center Clothing City, Xia Tian and her six-member team are squatting on the floor packing clothing.

This is the first year that they have tried to open a stall in Sijiqing. Previously, they had been doing factory direct sales in Ruian, Wenzhou.

"This is the first year we have set up a stall, and the results are quite good. Many customers can get to know us through the stall, which has broadened a lot of sales channels."

Xia Tian's stall has received 1,000 to 2,000 orders a day recently. The goods arrive at 7 a.m., and the six guys in the store are busy until 6 or 7 p.m. "Even if the mall is closed, we will continue to deliver until all are delivered." Xia Tian said that the guys are so busy that they don't even have time to eat lunch.

The best-selling items in the store in summer are the leggings, bell-bottoms and "small cigarette pipes" that they design and produce themselves.

Xiaoxia has run a stall in the Italian-French Clothing City for many years. "This year's popular autumn clothes have different styles, and the most popular colors are 'Angela' red and gray. Recently, more people are buying goods than before. Sometimes I sell 2,000 to 3,000 pieces a day, and sometimes 5,000 to 6,000 pieces."

Most orders are sent to the north, and the store owner hopes that the temperature will drop soon

The summer heat in the south has not completely gone away, and Sijiqing's autumn clothing business has not yet reached its peak.

At the gate of China Textile Center Clothing City, a security guard on duty told reporters that the number of people coming to the market to look at goods in the past two days has increased compared to the previous two weeks, but it has not yet reached the peak.

Mr. Liu, a cargo hauler, sat in a corner of the mall, watching a short video on his phone and told reporters, "It's still a little worse than the busiest times in previous years."

He has been transporting goods in Sijiqing for more than ten years. He goes online at 8 or 9 o'clock every day to grab orders and transport goods. He has to transport more than ten orders a day. "It's basically the stalls that have orders and ask us to deliver them to the shipping place."

However, until after ten o'clock today, there was still no new order for delivery of goods.

Master Liu thinks this has something to do with the weather. At least 80% of the goods he has transported recently are sent to the Northeast. "It's still hot in the South, who would want to buy autumn clothes?"

A middle-aged male boss who runs a retail business on China's No. 1 Clothing Street feels the same way: "Autumn clothes are ready, but now is not the best time."

Xiaoxia also said: "The overall business situation is still slightly weaker than last year, and the weather in the south is not yet in place."

The reporter learned that due to the temperature difference between the north and the south, the time when autumn clothes become popular will also be different. Xia Tian told the reporter: "The first batch has been shipped to the hotter areas now, and other places are also gradually filling in the orders."

During the interview, many shop owners told reporters that they look forward to the summer passing quickly and the temperature dropping sooner, when the "autumn harvest" will truly arrive.
