Gamescom Opening Night Live host Geoff Keighley confirmed that MachineGames' Indiana Jones: The Ancient Circle will be getting a "new look" at the showcase. What this means remains to be seen, but the game has already been rumored to be released in December, and a firm release date is expected to be announced then.

Based on the legendary film series (everything after Indiana Jones and the Last Airbender except for Indiana Jones and the Last Airbender), The Ancient Circle takes place in 1937. Archaeologist/adventurer Indiana Jones becomes embroiled in the eponymous mystery, which takes place in locations around the globe such as Egypt, Thailand, and the Himalayas. Part of the confrontation was shown at the Xbox Games Showcase in June.

Despite some third-person scenes, this is essentially a first-person game. Players will sneak around, use Jones's signature whip, and solve puzzles (including some optional ones). Despite the cinematic presentation, it doesn't feel very scripted, and the emphasis is on player choice.

Indiana Jones and the Grand Circle is currently scheduled to be released for Xbox Series X/S and PC in December this year.
