For example, if a film with an investment of about 100 million yuan is produced, the entire process of production can enjoy subsidies for script, creation, production, and distribution, as well as film screening, broadcasting, award-winning rewards, and eligible tax reduction and exemption policies. At the provincial level, it can get up to 20 million yuan in financial support. At the city and county levels, it can also enjoy corresponding financial subsidies and policy support.
In the first half of this year, the film distribution and screening market in Jilin Province, especially during the Spring Festival and summer vacation, showed strong growth momentum and vitality. During the 2024 Spring Festival, more than 190 cinemas in Jilin Province received a total of 2.65 million moviegoers and achieved box office revenue of 112 million yuan, breaking the 100 million yuan mark for the first time. Compared with the 2023 Spring Festival, the number of viewers and box office revenue increased by 44.8% and 26.4% respectively, far higher than the national average growth rate. This achievement has strongly boosted the confidence in the development of the film market in Jilin Province.
From January to July this year, the national box office revenue reached 30.5 billion yuan, and Jilin Province's box office revenue reached 447 million yuan. Ten new cinemas were built in the province, with 46 new screens. The number of cinemas in the province has exceeded 210, with a total of nearly 1,300 screens.
