In the southeast corner of the core area of the Unit 731 ruins complex in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, stands a black building shaped like a long box - the Exhibition Hall of Evidence of Crimes of Unit 731 of the Japanese Invaders (hereinafter referred to as the Exhibition Hall of Evidence of Crimes of Unit 731).

On the morning of August 13, Hideo Shimizu, a former member of the Japanese Army's Unit 731 who invaded China, and his entourage came here to identify the perpetrators and apologize.

The staff of the 731 Crime Evidence Exhibition Hall told the Beijing News that Shimizu Hideo and his party arrived at the exhibition hall this morning. The exhibition hall mainly consists of two parts: the Crime Evidence Exhibition Hall and the Crime Evidence Site. Shimizu Hideo first went to the Crime Evidence Site to identify the evidence. He went to the former site of the guard station, the former site of the headquarters building, the site of the bacteria laboratory, the site of the special prison, the former site of the frostbite laboratory, etc., and "he recalled what he had done in these places."

At 10:30 a.m., Shimizu Hideo came to the "Monument of Apology and Peace without War" to confess his sins. The "Monument of Apology and Peace without War" was funded by Japanese private friendly people in 2011. The inscription reads: "The 731st Unit of the Japanese Army committed an unprecedented national crime in China in the history of the world."

On the afternoon of the 13th, Shimizu Hideo accepted interviews from multiple media outlets, and staff led Shimizu Hideo and other people on a tour. It is understood that Shimizu Hideo was accompanied by more than 20 doctors from the Osaka Insurance Medical Association. In the evening, after the interview, Shimizu Hideo continued to visit the Crime Evidence Exhibition Hall.

The staff member said that the 731 Crime Evidence Exhibition Hall knew that Shimizu Hideo was going to Harbin more than a month ago, and he also brought some printed materials to the 731 Crime Evidence Exhibition Hall during his visit to China. The staff member said that Shimizu Hideo's confession on this trip represented an attitude, and his content this time would be used as evidence for research together with other historical materials.
