At present, the "Short-nosed Family" is divided into two, with 13 elephants active in the Mengyang area of ​​Xishuangbanna National Nature Reserve, and 7 elephants active in Dadugang Township, Jinghong City, along with the 28 wild elephants of the "Ran Ran Family".
