The final of the "Moore Farm Cup" Yunnan Province "Star of Hope" English Speaking Competition was successfully held

On August 11, the "Moore Farm Cup" 20th Yunnan Youth "Star of Hope" English Speaking Competition came to a successful conclusion.
The competition was divided into four groups: primary school A and B groups, junior high school and high school groups. After rounds of selection in the sub-competition areas, 313 outstanding contestants from 16 prefectures and cities across the province advanced to the finals, where four categories of awards were decided, including 31 special prizes, 62 first prizes, 92 second prizes and 123 third prizes.
The competition is hosted by the Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League, undertaken by Youth and Society Magazine, co-organized by the Yunnan Youth Development Foundation, the Kunming Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League, and the Yunnan University Youth League Committee, and fully supported by Yunnan Moore Farm Biotechnology Development Co., Ltd.
The competition is themed "There is a kind of life called Yunnan". Through a combination of online and offline methods, it sets up self-prepared speeches, talent shows, impromptu speeches, proposition speeches and other links according to different age groups. Contestants can show themselves through talents such as English songs, English tongue twisters, and poetry recitation, and interpret their understanding of "There is a kind of life called Yunnan" in English.
This competition has set up sub-competition areas in 16 prefecture-level cities across the province. Under the careful organization of the Youth League Committees at all levels, some prefecture-level cities have extended the competition tentacles to the county level. Since its launch in May this year, the province has received more than 20,000 contestants, affecting more than 150,000 young people, with ages ranging from 6 to 18 years old.
The Yunnan Youth "Star of Hope" English Speaking Competition has been successfully held for 20 sessions since 2002. Each session has continuously explored and practiced in terms of improving the competition level, expanding the competition scale, optimizing and upgrading the competition system, and improving competition services. It has always been based on the purpose of "serving young people" and has built a platform for young people across the province to participate, communicate, and display their talents, and has witnessed countless young people who love spoken English transforming and growing in the competition.
The competition on the finals was fierce. The excellent oral English performance of the teenagers, the blessing of various costumes, props and movements made the event scene wonderful. The contestants wore exquisite ethnic costumes and spoke in fluent English about their feelings for their homeland Yunnan. The ethnic style and international style complemented each other, winning applause from the judges and audience.
The competition will further focus on the development of Yunnan youth. Through high-quality competitions, it will encourage young people to learn, speak and use English well, cultivate English communication skills, improve their comprehensive English proficiency, tell Chinese stories well in English, convey Yunnan's voice, and actively spread the message that "there is a kind of life called Yunnan", contributing youthful strength to Yunnan's high-quality leapfrog development in the new era.
