The route starts from Tuanjiecun Station in Chongqing, covering a total distance of more than 11,000 kilometers, passing through Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, the Black Sea, and transiting in Turkey, then passing through Bulgaria, Romania and other countries, and finally arriving safely in Duisburg, Germany through rail-sea combined transport. It is worth mentioning that in early July, in order to help two local manufacturing companies in Chongqing solve the problem of international import and transportation of raw materials, Chongqing-Xinjiang-Europe Railway Company adopted the rail-sea-rail combined transport mode to successfully transport two batches of plastic sheets and starch ethers from Germany back to Chongqing through the Trans-Caspian Corridor. This move not only solved the urgent needs of the company, but also meant that the return line of Germany across the Caspian Sea was officially opened. The smooth operation of the outbound route echoed the opening of the return route, realizing the two-way connection of Chongqing China-Europe Express on the Trans-Caspian Sea route directly to the hinterland of Europe.

The regular operation of the cross-Caspian China-Europe Express has effectively solved the problem of stability of the international logistics supply chain caused by the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, and further improved the overseas channel network pattern of China-Europe Express with "smooth and efficient, multi-directional extension, and sea-land interconnection".

Since its first launch in May 2022, the Chongqing China-Europe Express South Corridor has achieved normal operation. "The launch of the Trans-Caspian Line is to fully meet the urgent needs in the current market environment." Chen Shuang, Operation Center Manager of Chongqing Yuxinou (Chongqing) Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd., said that in order to further improve transportation efficiency, the company is actively planning a railway route directly to Turkey and transit to Europe.

With the normal operation of the two-way line, it will not only enhance the cargo collection capacity of the existing South Corridor trains, but also improve the transportation efficiency and coverage of the China-Europe trains.
