The integration of digital and intelligence opens up the future. On August 12, the 2024 Ninth National Intelligent Manufacturing Academic Conference of the China Artificial Intelligence Society and the Working Meeting of the Intelligent Manufacturing Professional Committee were held in Guiyang. Experts and scholars from universities such as Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Jilin University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Wuhan University of Technology, Guizhou University, and Guizhou Institute of Technology gathered together to discuss the frontiers of intelligent manufacturing technology, as well as its applications and challenges.

The conference was hosted by the China Artificial Intelligence Society, co-organized by Guizhou University (Key Laboratory of Modern Manufacturing Technology, Ministry of Education/School of Mechanical Engineering), Guizhou University of Technology, National Digital Design and Manufacturing Innovation Center, and Intelligent Manufacturing Professional Committee of the China Artificial Intelligence Society, and co-organized by Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan Zhixin Technology Co., Ltd., Guizhou University of Technology Science and Technology Park Co., Ltd., Guizhou Aerospace Cloud Network Technology Co., Ltd., CODESYS Software Systems (Beijing) Co., Ltd., and the Guizhou Branch of the Intelligent Manufacturing System Solution Suppliers Alliance.
At present, artificial intelligence has gradually become an important driving force for a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation, causing the traditional manufacturing industry to undergo an unprecedented transformation, which is directly related to changes in production organizational structure, labor demand, skill structure, and even changes in the domestic and international competition landscape.

In the morning session of plenary sessions, Professor Liu Zhifeng of Jilin University, Professor Zhang Jie of Donghua University, Professor Lin Qiyin of Xi'an Jiaotong University, Professor Chen Chuanhai of Jilin University, Professor Luo Ming of Northwestern Polytechnical University, Professor Zou Xiangjun of Xinjiang University, Professor Huang Haisong of Guizhou University, and Wang Boxing, chief expert of software development at Suzhou Qianji Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., delivered plenary reports on topics such as the overview and innovative development of high-end CNC machine tools, product production control with deep integration of AI, assembly interface design and application, CNC machine tool reliability testing technology and equipment, research progress in intelligent processing technology for complex aviation parts, research and development of intelligent agricultural harvesting robots, research on key technologies for swarm intelligence behavior of mobile robots in manufacturing workshops, and Qianji CAM intelligent manufacturing software platform.
In the afternoon, experts and scholars at the meeting also held group discussions on three topics: robotics and intelligent manufacturing, artificial intelligence manufacturing, and manufacturing processes and intelligence.
