Walking into Renwan Village, Baiyang Town, Pengyang County, Guyuan City, Ningxia, the crops are lush and the rows of beautiful white two-story buildings on both sides of the neat road are very eye-catching. Villager Lu Shixiang is cooking dinner, and clear tap water flows out of the faucet... Lu Shixiang warmly invites the reporter to taste the water, and the reporter feels that it tastes slightly sweet.
my country's basic national conditions and water conditions are that there are many people but little water, and that water resources are unevenly distributed in time and space. For a long time, my country's water resources development and utilization methods have been generally extensive, with insufficient water efficiency, which is not compatible with high-quality development. How to better supply and save water is a must-answer question for water-scarce areas. In recent years, Ningxia has actively explored the construction of a demonstration province (region) of "Internet + Urban and Rural Water Supply", using new technologies such as cloud computing and big data to enable historic and revolutionary changes in urban and rural water supply methods and water quality, and has taken a new path.
Pengyang County is located in the Xihaigu Loess Hilly Area in southern Ningxia, which is seriously short of water. For a long time, local rural residents have mostly drunk turbid mountain ditch water and water from reservoirs. Some of them are bitter alkaline water with poor water quality, and some are mixed with human and animal drinking water with poor hygiene. In 2016, the urban and rural drinking water safety project in central and southern Ningxia was completed and put into use, solving the problem of living water sources for 1.13 million rural residents in Xihaigu. Water supply is not the ultimate goal. How to safely and efficiently deliver this precious water to thousands of households is more critical. In 2017, when implementing the "Water Supply to Every Household" project, Pengyang County changed the traditional water supply method, raised 310 million yuan from various sources, and jointly with universities and enterprises to use digital intelligent technology to manage water, and explored the implementation of "Internet + Urban and Rural Water Supply".
Wang Yuchen, a staff member of the dispatching center of the Pengyang County Urban and Rural Water Supply Management Station, said that the project mainly includes three parts: pipe network transformation, automation construction, and information construction. From water source to tap, the whole chain can be automatically operated and accurately managed. Computers and mobile phones can be used for remote monitoring, dispatching, and accident control anytime and anywhere to ensure safe drinking water for more than 196,000 people in 156 administrative villages in three districts of the county. A water quality monitoring center was established to ensure that water quality safety meets standards through technical means.
Nowadays, the water supply is sufficient, the water quality has improved, and the water supply method has also changed dramatically. Just click on the "My Ningxia" APP on your mobile phone, click on the "Urban and Rural Water Supply" on the "Water Fee" page, and the household name, household number, mobile phone number, water meter number and other elements will be displayed next to it. The amount of water purchased and the amount of water left can be clearly seen, and the payment can be made through the mobile phone. It can be said that "with a mobile phone in hand, you can have all the water you need."
Lu Shixiang said with emotion that in the past, people had to carry water on their shoulders, on donkeys, or on carts, and they had to travel dozens of miles over mountains and ridges. It was too difficult. After water is connected to every household, they only need to move their fingers on their mobile phones, which saves effort, time, and money. It's so easy!
Another thing that has changed is the way water workers work. In Renwan Village, there is a water meter well outside the walls of the residents. Unlike traditional water meters, these water meters do not need to be read. Instead, the data is wirelessly transmitted to the background through the intelligent reading terminal equipment on the ground. The software realizes automatic management, which only requires a few people to participate in a large amount of work, freeing people from complicated labor.
Lin You, 56, has worked as a plumber in Baiyang Town for more than a decade. Lin You said that he used to go down to the wells and read water meters from house to house. The mountainous area is large and farmers live in scattered areas, so it is quite troublesome to go up and down to read water meters. Now, people don't need to read water meters, and water pumps and other equipment are unmanned and remotely controlled, and people no longer need to go up the mountain to turn them on and off, which is much easier.
By exploring and developing "Internet + urban and rural water supply", Pengyang County has creatively solved the comprehensive problems of difficult access to rural tap water, difficult management and maintenance, difficult payment, and low water supply rate, greatly improving the quality and efficiency of water supply, saving water, and exploring and setting a model for the entire Ningxia region. According to the plan, by the end of 2027, Ningxia's "Internet + urban and rural water supply" demonstration province (region) will be basically completed, the urban and rural water supply integration rate and the proportion of rural population covered by large-scale water supply projects will reach 98%, and 80% of counties and districts will achieve county-level drinking water safety standardization.
