According to data from the Korea Consumer Agency's price information platform "True Price" on the 9th, in the Seoul area, the price of ginseng chicken soup, one of the eight major popular food in Korea, rose from 16,885 won in June to 17,038 won in July, an increase of 21% from July 2017.
The report said that since 2024, the average price of ginseng chicken soup has remained at 16,885 won for three consecutive months from April to June, and exceeded 17,000 won in July, during the first and second dog days of summer (July 15) and 25th (July 25).
In addition, the average unit price of gimbap was 3,462 won, jjajangmyeon 7,308 won, sliced noodles 9,231 won, cold noodles 11,923 won, pork belly 20,083 won per 200 grams, and bibimbap 10,885 won. The prices were all flat month-on-month.
