China News Service, Beijing, August 11 (Reporter Gao Kai) About life, about choice, about courage - the movie "Reverse Life" which recently landed in the theaters here has become an indispensable member of this year's summer season with its realistic themes and heartwarming stories. This is also the first time that Xu Zheng has returned to the big screen with a realistic creation after "Dying to Survive" after many years.
The film's director and lead actor Xu Zheng was recently interviewed by China News Service. He said: "This film is our tribute to all those who work hard to live. I hope it can inspire more people to bravely face the challenges of life and find their own happiness and value."

In "Reverse Life", the audience not only witnessed the protagonist Gao Zhilei (Xu Zheng)'s process of going from confusion and struggle to gradually finding himself and the meaning of life, but also observed all kinds of people and experienced all kinds of life while following him in the process of delivering food. And these experiences ultimately point to a conclusion: both good and bad are scenery, as long as you run, life is full of countless choices and possibilities.
The narrative technique of "Reverse Life" is ingenious, fully integrating Gao Zhilei's inner world and the life of the deliveryman. Deliverymen are not only closely related to the current urban life, but also a group of workers in this era. Through the screen writing full of warm background of this group, the film allows the audience to feel the reality of the deliverymen more vividly. Xu Zheng said, "The food delivery industry is a field that is both familiar and unfamiliar. It connects thousands of households, but the hardships and difficulties behind it are often ignored. I think that if these real lives can be extracted and made into a movie, it will have a strong practical significance."
It is reported that in order to truly present the work and life of food deliverymen, the film's creators did a lot of preparation work. They collected a lot of stories and information, and made many adjustments and improvements to the script. Xu Zheng said: "We went to the real food delivery station to observe their working conditions, and even built a shooting scene next to the food delivery station." The experience in the preparatory stage of the shooting allowed the creative team to have a deeper understanding of the working conditions and psychological state of the food deliverymen, and also provided valuable materials for the creation of the film.
To ensure a sense of reality and immersion, the photography team of "Reverse Life" adopted a documentary style of shooting, trying not to deliberately use lighting to increase the realism of the film. At the same time, they also used light and flexible photography equipment to better capture the working moments and life details of the deliverymen.
Faced with such a challenging story as "Reverse Life", Xu Zheng chose to write, direct and act in it himself. He said frankly: "In fact, the pressure of shooting is very high, because I have to direct and act at the same time, which is very trivial. But I can't bear to give up this role. I think only by acting in person can I better grasp the inner world of the character."
In Xu Zheng's view, Gao Zhilei is a complex character. He hopes to be a good son, a good husband, and a good father, but the pressure of life forces him to face the cruelty of reality. "His forbearance and powerlessness are a true portrayal of many middle-aged people in today's society. I hope that through this character, the audience can see their difficulties, as well as their tenacity and hope."
In casting other roles, Xu Zheng insisted on choosing talented actors and giving them ample room to perform. "I think today's audiences care more about the actors' abilities and they appreciate their acting skills," he said. "Therefore, when casting, I paid great attention to the actors' acting abilities and their understanding of the roles."
Xu Zheng spoke highly of the performances of Xin Zhilei, Wang Xiao, Jia Bing and other leading actors. "Xin Zhilei has a kind of calmness and is very suitable for the role of Xiao Ni," he said. "Wang Xiao's performance is very natural, and he is able to grasp the complexity and multifaceted nature of the character of 'Lao Kou' very well. Jia Bing adds a lot of highlights to the film with his comedic talent."
Bravely face and choose your own life path. Only in this way can you truly live out your own color and meaning - "Reverse Life" emphasizes this core.
"I would like to dedicate this film to everyone who works hard to live." Xu Zheng summed up the core meaning of "Reverse Life" with this sentence. (End)
