"The characteristic of my magic is that it has Chinese elements. Whether it is the performance technique, costume design, or the cultural flavor, they all cleverly integrate Chinese elements." Recently, Chen Zhiling, a Chinese magician living in the United States, said in an interview that it is this profound cultural heritage that has become an inexhaustible source of her creativity, allowing her to shine with unique oriental charm on the global magic stage and form a distinct and unique personal style.
Chen Zhiling was born in Hunan and is a well-known magician. In 1992, she participated in the World Magicians Association (IBM) conference held in Salt Lake City, USA, and won the first prize in the competition.

In 1997, at the International Federation of Magicians (FISM) conference held in Germany, she won the championship in the sleight of hand category, becoming the first female winner of this event known as the "Olympics of Magic".
In Chen Zhiling's view, magic is not just pure entertainment, it is also a comprehensive art that integrates multiple elements such as creativity, skills, psychology, and performing arts. "Magicians create amazing visual effects through superb skills and clever ideas, and at the same time plant the seeds of curiosity, surprise and fantasy in the hearts of the audience."
"I have been performing continuously since I won the championship in 1992," Chen Zhiling admitted. When she first performed magic, she also wore a suit and tuxedo to show her muscles to the audience, "but I found that this combination had no characteristics, so I changed the magic costumes into Chinese clothes, wearing Chinese theatrical and dance costumes, and then integrated my emotions into the magic performances."
In terms of the refinement and innovation of skills, Chen Zhiling incorporated the traditional Chinese art treasure - face-changing culture into modern magic performances in the early 1990s. This not only gave magic performances a deeper cultural heritage, but also allowed global audiences to deeply feel the charm and flavor of traditional Chinese culture while marveling at the magic.
This also created Chen Zhiling's unique magic performance style.
"Now, as a magician standing on the world stage, every performance of mine can get standing ovations from the audience. I think this is a reflection of the cultural exchange and mutual learning between China and the world," said Chen Zhiling.

Recently, she attended the 8th China West Lake International Magic Exchange Conference in Quzhou, Zhejiang. She was delighted to see that more and more young people are pursuing their dreams of the art of magic.
"I am proud of the growth and achievements of young magicians, and I am full of expectations for the development prospects of Chinese magic." Chen Zhiling believes that with the rise of the younger generation of magicians and the increasing frequency of international exchanges, Chinese magic will shine more brilliantly on the world stage with its unique cultural connotations and superb performance skills, and win more love and respect from international friends.
