"Compacted graphite cast iron brake discs are widely used in rail transit and heavy-duty trucks. Compared with traditional gray cast iron brake discs, they have more outstanding braking effects and a service life extended by 2 to 3 times." Gao Jian, manager of Huida's vermicular graphite brake department, introduced that for high-speed locomotives, brake discs need to have outstanding wear resistance, thermal stability, and high standards of strength and stiffness. Vermicular graphite cast iron combines the advantages of traditional ductile iron and gray cast iron, and has very obvious advantages in mechanical properties and heat fatigue resistance. Therefore, it has a higher safety factor during vehicle emergency braking.

At present, the new products such as railway and highway freight series brake discs, mining truck hubs and super-large hubs produced by Huida Compacted Ink have occupied an important share in the domestic market. The wheel-mounted railway locomotive brake disc independently developed by the company won the Gold Award for High-quality Castings at the China International Foundry Expo, setting a product benchmark in the industry.
