Da Wan News Level 4 autonomous driving is "under certain circumstances and conditions, the vehicle can fully complete driving tasks and monitor the driving environment independently without the intervention of human drivers". Recently, the automotive-grade domain controller AD1 for the Level 4 autonomous driving market was successfully rolled off the production line for the first time at the Lianbao factory in Hefei Economic Development Zone, which means that Lianbao Technology has become one of the first factories to realize the production of NVIDIA DRIVE Thor chip products.

In 2024, the pace of commercialization of autonomous driving technology will accelerate significantly, and L4 autonomous driving car applications will soon reach a large-scale inflection point. NVIDIA Thor is NVIDIA's latest next-generation in-vehicle autonomous driving domain control chip. The entire board has about 16,600 points, nearly 10,000 components, 8 DDRs, and 3,900 BGA balls.

The first batch of users of Thor include Ideal, Haobo, Xiaopeng Motors, BYD, etc. The AD1 produced by Lianbao Technology is a car-grade domain controller product planned and designed for the needs of L4 autonomous driving commercial application scenarios. It has high computing power, high security, high reliability, high cost performance, low maintenance cost and other performances, paving the way for the large-scale mass production of unmanned commercial vehicles such as autonomous taxis (Robotaxi), autonomous trucks (RoboTruck), autonomous minibuses (RoboBus), and autonomous sanitation vehicles (RoboSweeper).

According to Lenovo's AD1 domain controller information, it uses two Thor X chips, with an INT8/FP8 computing power of up to 2100 TOPS in AI acceleration, a CPU computing power value of 174 based on SPECrate 2017 evaluation, functional safety that can reach ISO 26262 ASIL D level, network security that meets ISO21434 requirements, and a variety of sensor interfaces. The lighting of AD1 this time makes Lenovo one of the first automotive Tier 1 suppliers to successfully light up the NVIDIA DRIVE Thor platform, and also demonstrates Lianbao Technology's manufacturing capabilities in the new track of autonomous driving in the field of automotive computing. In the future, this factory in Hefei will undertake more autonomous driving products and promote the popularization of "L4 autonomous driving".
