Previously, the best result of the Chinese rhythmic gymnastics team in the Olympics was the silver medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The precious gold medal in Paris is a transformational progress and victory for Chinese rhythmic gymnastics.
After the game, Sun Dan, the coach of the Chinese rhythmic gymnastics team, shed tears on the field. She was a member of the team who won the silver medal in Beijing. In the first hoop competition of the final, the strongest Bulgarian team had an obvious drop of the equipment and only scored 34.100 points. The Italian team also made a small mistake and scored 36.100 points.
