On the 9th local time, a passenger plane of Brazil's Volpass Airlines crashed in Vinhedo, Sao Paulo State, in the southeast of the country. A total of 57 passengers and 4 crew members on board were killed. From the list of victims released by the airline, no Chinese passengers were found.

Video footage shot by witnesses showed the passenger plane spinning in the air and falling vertically, with thick smoke rising near a residential area and a large area on fire.

Brazil's Volpass Airlines confirmed that the crashed passenger plane was an ATR-72 turboprop aircraft with a capacity of 68 passengers, operating a flight from Cascavel to Guarulhos.

At present, the black box of the crashed passenger plane has been found, and the cause of the accident is still under further investigation.

According to the relevant departments of the Brazilian Air Force, the flight was still in normal condition until 13:20 local time on the 9th. But from 13:21, the passenger plane did not respond to the call from the Sao Paulo tower, nor did it declare an emergency or report encountering bad weather. Radar records showed that at 13:22 local time, the aircraft's flight altitude dropped sharply from about 5,000 meters to about 1,250 meters.

The aircraft is in normal condition and the crew holds a valid pilot license

The Brazilian Civil Aviation Authority stated that the aircraft operating this flight was in normal operating condition, held valid registration and airworthiness certificates, and the crew also held valid pilot licenses.
