Experience the culture of traditional Chinese medicine, DIY health-preserving wormwood hammer, make Chinese medicine epidemic prevention sachets, and practice the Eight Deficiency Health Exercises... Recently, the School of Pharmacy of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, led by Party Secretary Cao Kai, organized a practical team composed of senior experts and graduate students of the Chunhua Volunteer Group to go deep into Xianzong Town, Hanshan County, Anhui Province, and work closely with the local enterprise Anhui Chengguan Chinese Medicine Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Chengguan Chinese Medicine) and the Xianzong Town Government to jointly carry out a series of activities integrating technical support and inheritance of traditional Chinese medicine culture.
This action aims to empower agriculture and benefit the people through science and technology, and bring advanced Chinese medicinal materials planting technology and the profound essence of Chinese medicine culture to the grassroots. It will not only provide strong support for the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy, but also be committed to enhancing people's health awareness and self-care ability, and inject continuous new vitality into the vigorous development of Chinese medicine at the grassroots level.
At the first stop of the activity, the expert team and students visited the standardized dandelion planting base of Chengguan Chinese Medicine. The base innovatively adopts the intercropping model of thin-shell pecan and dandelion, combined with modern planting technologies such as intelligent irrigation, precision fertilization, and biological control, which not only ensures the high quality and high yield of Chinese medicinal materials, but also opens up a new path for the development of forest economy. The standardized dandelion production and processing base that the company is preparing to build further demonstrates its forward-looking layout in the industrialization and standardization of Chinese medicinal materials.
Subsequently, the School of Pharmacy of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine and Chengguan Chinese Medicine jointly held a school-enterprise cooperation symposium and a unveiling ceremony for the postgraduate social practice base in Xianzong Town. This cooperation marks the deep integration of postgraduate education and industrial practice in the School of Pharmacy, and opens a new chapter of cultural inheritance and innovation.
At the ceremony, leaders and guests from both sides gathered together to witness this important moment. Mayor Huang Lanlan of Xianzong Town and General Manager He Chao of Chengguan Chinese Medicine delivered speeches respectively, emphasizing the positive role of cooperation in local economy, cultural heritage and industrial development. Director Jin Feng of the Health Commission of Hanshan County expects that the joining of South China University of Chinese Medicine will provide more support for the dissemination of Chinese medicine culture and the creation of characteristic Chinese medicine brands in Hanshan County. Afterwards, Secretary Cao Kai personally unveiled the practice base, marking that the cooperation between the two sides has entered a substantive stage, providing valuable practice opportunities for Chinese medicine students and injecting new vitality into Chengguan Chinese Medicine.
At the symposium, Secretary Cao made a summary speech on the cooperation. He highly praised Chengguan Chinese Medicine's standardized and modernized practices in Chinese medicinal material planting, and promised that the college would organize forces to tackle the technical problems raised by the company. At the same time, he encouraged graduate students to "pursue academic excellence while paying attention to social reality", apply what they have learned to the practice of rural revitalization, and solve practical problems.
Subsequently, a lecture themed "The Way of Qihuang: Health Preservation and Analysis of the Secrets of Dandelion" was successfully held in Hanshan County. The lecture helped villagers understand their own constitutions and the six external evils through in-depth and easy-to-understand explanations. At the same time, taking dandelion as an example, the lecture elaborated in detail the unique charm of authentic medicinal materials and the practical knowledge of the same origin of medicine and food, further narrowing the distance between traditional Chinese medicine and people's lives.
During the event, several TCM cultural experience sessions were also set up, including DIY health-preserving wormwood hammer, making of TCM epidemic prevention sachets, experience of the Eight Deficiency Health Exercise, and tasting of medicine and food products. Under the guidance of volunteers, the villagers made wormwood hammers and sachets by themselves, learned and experienced the health-preserving wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine, and the atmosphere was warm and cozy.
At the same time, in the village meeting room, Associate Professor Hu Yang from the School of Pharmacy's expert team conducted knowledge training on the Good AP (GAP) practices for Chinese herbal medicine production for the technical backbones of Chengguan Chinese medicine and local large-scale growers, helping everyone improve their knowledge and ability in the quality management of Chinese herbal medicine production.
The event also invited teachers Ren Weiming and Mao Xinjing from the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine to conduct free clinics in the local area, providing free consultation, basic examinations and health guidance for local villagers. The experts patiently answered the villagers' health questions, popularized disease prevention knowledge, and guided the villagers to establish scientific health concepts and enhance their self-care capabilities. In addition, the event included a questionnaire survey on the satisfaction of grassroots TCM medical services and the daily application of authentic medicinal materials, as well as inviting local medical staff to hold discussions with the expert team. Through questionnaire surveys and in-depth exchanges, we can fully understand the current situation and needs of grassroots TCM services and jointly contribute ideas and suggestions for the development of TCM services in Xianzong Town, Hanshan County.
This event is not only a journey of inheriting the culture of traditional Chinese medicine, but also a vivid practice of traditional Chinese medicine services going deep into the grassroots, benefiting people's livelihood, and helping rural revitalization. The strong alliance between Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine and enterprises will inject new vitality into the vigorous development of traditional Chinese medicine and let the culture of traditional Chinese medicine shine in a broader world.
