Xinhua News Agency, Moscow, August 10 (Xinhua) -- The Russian National Anti-Terrorism Committee announced on August 9 that a counter-terrorism action system will be implemented in Kursk, Belgorod and Bryansk regions starting from that day.

According to the news released by the Russian National Anti-Terrorism Committee on its official website, the Ukrainian armed forces launched a terrorist attack on Kursk Oblast, causing civilian casualties and damage to residential buildings and other civilian facilities. Bortnikov, chairman of the Russian National Anti-Terrorism Committee and director of the Russian Federal Security Service, decided to implement an anti-terrorist action system in Kursk Oblast, Belgorod Oblast, and Bryansk Oblast from August 9, 2024 to ensure the safety of residents and respond to sabotage and terrorist threats from the enemy.

The Russian National Anti-Terrorism Committee also stated that Russian state agencies will take additional measures to ensure the safety of citizens, maintain law and order, and strengthen anti-terrorism protection of facilities.

The Ukrainian army launched an attack on Kursk Oblast on the 6th.
